Hi guys, this is Nina CEO of Colourette and here’s how we started. Colourette started on October 2015 and it was really just a spur of the moment for me. I saw a lot of Instagram accounts selling makeup. [And I thought], “Why wouldn’t I put up my own makeup brand?” The official slogan of Colourette is, “Be it.” And that’s our mantra. Our mantra is, “Self-Acceptance. Self-Love. Self-Empowerment.” This wide range of cosmetics isn’t really created to alter or to change how you look. But to enhance. So if you’re plus size, or petite, or skinny, or if you’re curvy, this brand is for you. Probably until now, the most challenging part of it all is hiring employees with the same dedication as me. 90 percent of Colourette’s products are locally-made. As long as we can manufacture it here in the Philippines we do so. Because we wanted to give the local industry a boost. We really want to be hands-on with the research and development of Colourette. I meet up with the chemist and with the manufacturers who [make] our products. Our main inspiration for all the new products and the new shades are our supporters. We have polls every now and then. [We ask them], “What products are you yearning for?” And then we try our best to develop those. Three lang? Ang hirap. Probably, my top three would be the Coloursticks. It’s the flag-bearing product of Colourette. We started with just five and now we have 30 shades. My second would be, oh this is hard! I think the Supramattes. We redefined mattes! They’re not sticky, they’re not heavy. My top favorite would have to be our newest product, the highlighter, the Face Gloss. Look at this quality! It’s locally-made, 100 percent locally-made. And it took us quite a while to get the perfect formula and now I can compare it to my favorite local brand. It makes me super happy and overwhelmed at the same time. For it to empower and influence people, it feels good. My dream is some day, if God permits it, it would be a global brand. For a more short-term, or a realistic one, I hope that more Filipinos could get to try it, and within the year, I hope it becomes a full-face cosmetic line. That’s it!
