I Had To Get My Arm Amputated.. AGAIN // Amputee Storytime

My name is Kristie Sita and if it’s your first time here welcome! Make sure you subscribe turn on this post notification. So you never miss my next video So in my past videos I have told you guys all about my amputation, all about June 30th again if you’re new 5 years ago, I lost my left hand And that now it’s just me and my one guy but uh, you know, that’s what happens in life, and I’m totally fine. So today, I’m gonna share my extended story about my amputation because you guys got to know this so June 30th 2014 I was in a boating accident You guys can watch that full video here and you’ll find out how I lost my left hand exactly but today’s video talks about what happened after that and In case you probably saw from the title of this video. I had to get it re-amputated surprise! That’s what we’re gonna be talking about today. I thought all was good after my amputation. I started getting better. I was training again I was working with my prosthetics guy and he was kind of working out Trying to figure out what kind of prosthetics was going to be best for me, so I did get my first one It was an all skin color kind of looking as normal as possible base And then I had a couple of workout attachments attached to that And so when I started using these attachments once my prosthetic was finally all done So once I had all those pieces I started to use them and one of the biggest one was the clamp So I’ll show you what that looks like here And so the clamp Pretty much what happened is when the clamp would be like here and then I would have a weight on it It would be pulling my arm essentially downwards like this. So this part of my arm was hitting my prosthetic I was a lot of pain whenever I would do that and It would really really really hurt felt. Like I was hitting a sharp-edged every single time and it was really uncomfortable in my prosthetic I couldn’t use my prosthetic for more than like ten minutes and maybe at max because it was just so much pain Coming from just this one side on my right right there And so I started talking to my prosthetic eye being like hey, what’s going on here? How did we fix this? Why is this happening blablabla and actually ended up sending me into some specialists and he was a hand specialist Even though there was no hand I guess he still kind of knows the realms what’s going on in there there should be a stump specialist That should definitely be a thing and so I started going to this hand specialist and he kind of Started looking at my arm and feeling around to feel what bones were left and kind of how that felt everywhere also speaking of which in these medical terms Medical appointments before this video. I have partnered up with Abridge which is an incredible new medical app Which is going to help you with every single doctor’s appointment. You have to come what happens Is you start recording as soon as you get into the doctor’s office and you stop recording when you leave all notes will be kept on file. It’s going to point out key insights for you So you actually will never miss a conversation. You’ll never have to write anything down again It’s all your medical files in one place and it actually allows you to share it with your family and friends and team and whatever Your medical condition is it’s available for those people to see and to send off to them. It’s really important I wish I had this during my amputation time and If I had these notes and if I had those conversations to refer back to I would literally do anything and it would also make this video like 10 times better because I could tell You exactly what he said, but I didn’t use this App at that time But I’m definitely going to be using it now go check it out use the download link that’s in the description guys It should be at the top and let me know how you like this on with this video And this doctor made me take a scan on my arm and you found out that I have a shark-toothed bone Right in that corner and I’ll show you guys that x-ray what it looks like here You can actually completely see it’s like this like super Sharp tooth there and that was digging right into my prosthetic every single time And so we kind of started talking about what were some options to fix this And so I could have just sucked it up and got used to it and got more padding in my prosthetic something that would have Made it more comfortable but one of the other most long-term best solution was to actually reopen up my scar and Go back inside so they’d have to slice it open Go back inside take out some bones cut it down whatever they needed to do there We can talk about this over and we’re like, this is definitely the best decision for me long-term because I’m only 16 years old I’m definitely in our prosthetics over my life I need to fix this so I decided to go into the surgery which I scheduled exactly one year after my Annotation and I was just about to move to the city to pursue dance. And so this was in.. toto. Alright, here he is guys Little crazy bean he won’t let me work ever when I’m in this chair No you want Todo And so at this point it was a really good decision because my prosthetics really weren’t working for me I was actually stopped using my prosthetics all together and I was just Sliding weight plates over my arm as if literally my arm was like a barbell. I’ll show you this this photo here It’s kind of funny, but that’s how I did a majority of my exercises at the beginning. They’re waiting for my prosthetic I mean waiting for the surgery and so in June I ended up going back in now My surgery was scheduled so when I got there they were putting me completely under for this So technically what was going to be happening is on this arm here. So this right Where’s the scar? Okay, you can you won’t be able to see it through the screen Oh, but they reopened my scar right here. And so they sliced it open Toto stop. so they had to slice open my scar here and they went in they removed my bones in there They sawed down some of my bones in there. I was completely out I had no idea. The length isn’t much different, but the inside is very Just more long-term well I don’t really know how to explain that and I know it can seem like a pretty minor surgery I guess you guys but is actually really really big and I was in recovery for about two months I think again after show you some of my pictures of my scars healing over it took again a couple of months couple of weeks or everything to Be back to normal, but that was just something that wasn’t mandatory I could have gone on in pain, but I was just like I’m too young to Have to live with this as well because I’m already living with like one less hand and then now pain in my one less hand Just wasn’t helping the situation. And so I said it to get it Reworked re amputated and I was a little bit exaggeration But it got you guys here so welcome to my channel subscribe and I’ll leave a comment down below Yeah, so that’s my story. That was the last thing that happened to my stump. So Hopefully nothing else else has to happen to it I know some amputees do go through Processes later in life when they do actually have to give it shortened or have to have other surgeries or whatever I’m thinking I’m gonna be good, hopefully and Yeah, that’s my story time for today was just my second surgery that I had to have and yep So if you want to hear more about my story, I’m gonna link my amputation story playlist up here You can check that out.
