Kelsey’s Updated Blownout Waves | 2019

Hi guys, it’s Kelsey here. So today I’m gonna be showing you my updated blowing out waves I have not done this tutorial and for years and I decided to do an updated version for you guys because I do Do some things a little bit different and some of the products that I used have changed as well so if you guys want to see how I get my on our waves then just keep on watching so I’m just starting out with drying my hair with this t-shirt It’s been at this t-shirt for about 10 minutes and I shampooed and conditioned my hair would be living proof No, free shampoo and conditioner. I love the shampoo conditioner I also use it sometimes to straighten my hair as well And now I’m just going to split my hair down the middle and get ready to apply some heat protective spray now you guys know I am a Strict user of heat protectant and I recommend everybody to use it if you go back and forth from curly to straight or Styles It’s very necessary in order to keep your curl pattern. So I kind of go crazy with this So I’m just gonna spray that all over my hair at the top at the bottom on the ends everywhere And I’ve been using this Tresemme heat tamer spray for about 10 years almost 10 years so it’s never failed me and I highly recommend using it if you haven’t already and After I apply my heat tamer spray. I’m just going to separate my hair into four sections before I go ahead and apply my leaving Now the leaving that I’m gonna be using is this Kerastase and discipline line and this is their smoothing taming milk And it’s a blow dry cream For unruly hair and I take about a dime-size amount and just work it through my hair I start out with my aunt’s first, of course, and then I just work my way up It’s best to apply most of your products at the ends of your hair because that’s the part of your hair that mostly needs All the love because you know the top of your hair is new hair So it doesn’t need as much love as your aunt’s and now I’m just gonna go out with my big wide toothed comb and begin To tangle in my hair. I got this white tooth comb from my grandmother. She gave it to me like eight years ago I can’t remember but I love it now you guys know I always like to twist my hair because it helps my hair not to get tangled and I just The way and do the exact same thing to the rest of my hair Okay, so now that I’ve got my hair detangled and my levy and apply I’m gonna go ahead and start the blow drying process now I’m gonna be using the Dyson blow-dryer. This is Kendra’s. I need to get my own but this blow dryer is very expensive. So Yeah, I’m gonna be using her for the time being but I’m using this on warm heat So when I’m doing my blown out waves, that’s something that still has not changed I always use warm heat instead of hot because if I’m straightening my hair, of course I will be using it at the highest hottest setting but I’m using it at the lowest setting with this So I’m just gonna go ahead and begin blow-drying I started out with my white tooth comb and then halfway through I just pick up my paddle brush You guys know the drill from my straightening hair routine you guys watch that So the difference with this is I don’t Subsection my hair when I’m blow-drying when I’m doing my blowing out waves because I’m not trying to get my hair as straight as possible When I’m doing this type of look now if I was straightening my hair, of course, like I said I’ll be using a hot heat and I will be trying to get my hair as straight as possible. So that It takes less time to straighten, but I just need to get my hair stretched Okay. So for the waves I’m gonna be using my old ebook Kitty cortex 4 and one curling wand today I’m gonna be using the second – the smallest barrel because it takes away too long Now if I use the smallest barrel and my old tutorial I did use the smallest barrel, but for this one I’m gonna be using the second – the smallest and I’m just gonna be applying some more heat tamer spray because you can never Protect your hair and nuts and I’m going to be parting my hair where I want it And before I begin winding I’m just gonna apply some of my old little gussy berry hair serum You guys know I’m obsessed with this stuff. I’ve been using it for years. I get it at Ulta. It’s a bomb It smells amazing so I’m just gonna be sub sectioning my hair here and I like to take about Two inch sections for this and I wrap my hair away from my face and you want to put the barrel behind your head So that’s the easiest way that I can describe this Some people have trouble with using a curling wand but leave me I still burn myself all the time It’s not the easiest especially when I haven’t done it in a while Honestly after you started to kind of get the hang of it and it’s like you never stop doing it so yeah, you just want to wrap the curl away from your face and Put the actual curling wand behind your head. Hopefully that’s easy for you guys to follow but practice makes perfect You’re not gonna you know do it perfect the first time but yeah behind the head hair away from the face Also after every couple of sections, I just spray my hair with my granny a fruity sleek and shined hairspray I’ve been using this hairspray for years. It’s one of my favorites and is super inexpensive. I Also hold the curl in my hand for about three to four seconds to ensure that it’s cooled off So that also helps your waist last so holding them in my hand kind of helps them, you know, stay before even spray hairspray So once I get to the front of my hair for each section I like to kind of use the wand as a flatiron in a way just to smooth down my roots a little bit more because This is the part of my hair that you’re going to see the actual Top of my head so you don’t have to do this for your whole head It’s kind of unnecessary But it is necessary to me to do it in the front because that’s the part that’s going to be seen Literally the part is going to be seen So I just like to smooth that before I go in and wand those pieces Okay, now that our curls are done cooling I’m just going to spray a little bit more hairspray and apply some more of my Seabury serum to my aunt’s and also kind of separate the waves a little bit to add more volume to my hair So I like to do this to each side of my head and I try to be a gentle as possible But when I’m trying to stretch them out I just kind of like to pull on some of them that are a little bit tighter just to get More of the wave look going and by the way, if you guys have seen my mouth moving throughout this tutorial I’m not talking to myself. I was either on the phone or I was thinking so, yeah, so that completes this tutorial I hope you guys enjoyed it. Let me know if you guys will be trying this or if you tried this years ago I hope you guys enjoyed it the updated version and I will see you guys in our next video
