I’m Michael Miller. I’m a professor of plastic
surgery at The Ohio State University and I’m also the Chair of the Department of Plastic
Surgery. I do primarily cancer related reconstructive surgery although I do a full range of plastic
surgery including aesthetic surgery. Ohio State has a very unique plastic surgery program
in several regards. It’s a very diverse program. We have a collection of surgeons with expertise
in all the relevant areas of plastic surgery from hand surgery to abdominal wall reconstruction.
We even recently added a surgeon with expertise in migraine headache treatment. One of the
unique things about plastic surgery is the amount of collaboration that we have with
other departments. Much of what we do is done in cooperation with colleagues in other surgical
specialties and medical specialties. We also have a very active research program that’s
a cooperative program in areas like burn and wound healing that involve other disciplines.
We also have cooperations outside of the College of Medicine in schools like engineering where
we have mutual projects that we do together. Our faculty is composed of a team of experts
from all across the spectrum of plastic surgery. Anyone who comes to see one of our faculty
members is going to be assured they’ll be receiving the best care available that’s state
of the art and given by clinicians who are compassionate and and care about you.
