Red Halo & Black Wing | Makeup Tutorial

Red Halo & Black Wing | Makeup Tutorial

I’m doing a tutorial on this look right here. It is very vampy and intense. If the red eye and red lip is too much feel free to do just like a nude gloss over the lips. But I feel like this look is very tumblr. I’m not sure why but I just get that feeling that I would see this on tumblr. But I hope you enjoy this tutorial. I am priming my eyelids with some primer potion. Then I’m placing this red shadow all over my lid with a fluffy brush. I’m bringing it above the crease. And then onto my lower lash line. You really want to make sure this halos around your eye. In a very round shape. It looks really ridiculous right now. Now I’m putting some black liner on my water line and tight line. So whenever you wear a red or like warm toned shadow it brings out all the redness in your eyes and on your face. So you want to make sure to cancel that out where you don’t want it. So that is why I’m tight lining so the redness like on my water line will be really heightened so if I don’t cancel it out it’s going to look like I’m sick. So you can either doing this by putting black or some sort of nude color that is more on the white side. So you can see the difference between this eye how it just really gets rid of that redness. Now I’m going to put on some liquid liner and I’m going to wing it out. I’m going to do this off camera because it’s really hard to doing it on camera. I’ll link one of the tutorials I have below where I do it more on camera just so you can have an idea of how I do my winged eyeliner. So this is how you want the eyeliner to look. I brought it all the way into the tear duct and made it pretty thick. So it separates my eye from the red. Now I’m going to blend the edge of the red shadow and I’m using a Sigma E25 brush. Then load up on mascara. Top and bottom lashes. Now for brows I’m just brushing them through. Then filling them in where there’s any gaps. Setting them with some brow gel. For foundation I’m using one pump of the Nars Sheer Glow. You want to use a foundation with a little bit more coverage for this look because again you really want to make sure all of the redness on your face if you have any is really cancelled out because the red eyeshadow will heighten it even more. Now I’m going to bronze up my face with a Laura Mercier pressed powder and a Real Techniques sculpting brush. Which I use every single time. Put some concealer on. This will help clean up the red eyeshadow if you have any fall out. Blend it in. Oh my god. I just love this Real Techniques setting brush. I’m just setting the concealer with some ELF powder. And then for lips I’m putting on this Nars lip pencil in the color Cruella. And then over that I’m going to put this Rimmel lipstick in number eleven. It’s one of the Kate Moss lipsticks. Just to deepen it up a little bit. And that is the makeup complete!
