Scripps Plastic Surgeon Manish Champaneria, MD

My medical interests include reconstructive microsurgery,
transgender surgery, which includes top surgery
and facial feminization as well as breast
reconstruction, as well as lymphedema
surgery. I specialize in generalized
plastic and reconstructive surgery. My microsurgical training
helps me perform advanced microsurgical reconstruction,
which includes breast reconstruction, novel lymphatic surgeries, in addition to
transgender plastic surgery. My practice is unique in that I offer
novel lymphatic reconstruction. I perform vascularized
lymph node transfer, in addition to
lymphaticovenous bypass surgery for patients who are suffering
from chronic debilitating lymphedema. Lymphedema is the swelling
of an extremity or a body part as a result of blockage of the
lymphatic system. This can include the head and neck,
the upper extremity, the lower extremity,
in addition to the genitalia. The most common cause
in the world is infection. The most common cause
in the United States is cancer surgery and
radiation. My practice is geared towards
patient care and providing the utmost
quality outcomes. Patients are first
in my practice. When patients come to see me,
they should expect a personalized experience
within plastic surgery. They will be the
center of attention. They will be able to express
their needs and their wants, and we should be able to
provide a dedicated safe plan for them. I want my patients to know
that I am there for them throughout the reconstructive
and plastic surgery process, that I am open and honest,
and that I am compassionate, and that their needs
and their desires are of the utmost
importance to me. Trust is at the core
so that I, as a physician, can provide the
utmost care to my patients. Not only do I have to
trust my patients, but my patients have to
trust me. They trust me with the
most important part of their health, and I’m very grateful for that. The most satisfying part of my job
are my patients — to be able to care for
my patients from the beginning of the
reconstructive process to the end,
and to see the outcomes — that’s the most amazing part
of my career. Patients should choose Scripps
for their specialty care because we are a group of
board-certified plastic surgeons and we provide the utmost
cutting-edge procedures and outcomes and
plastic surgery.
