Tarte Shape Tape FOUNDATION! + Easy Holiday Look | Maryam Maquillage

Tarte Shape Tape FOUNDATION! + Easy Holiday Look | Maryam Maquillage

Hello darlings, welcome back to my channel. I’m Maryam. Today’s look is a rocker glam Christmas / New Year’s tutorial, this look that you see right
here. But the focus of this video is not actually
gonna be the look. Today I’m testing out one of my favorite products
of the year 2017, you could probably already guess what it is. I am talking about my ‘Tarte Shaped Tape
Concealer’. Today I am gonna be wearing it completely
differently than I’ve worn it before, I’m wearing it all over my face, and I’m testing
it out as foundation. So this is something that I’ve been curious about, I’ve been wondering about this for
so long, so watch until the end of the video to see my wear test, where I come back at
the end of the day and I film a little add-on. Be sure to subscribe to my channel, subscribe,
I’m gonna give you a second, subscribe and hit that notification bell, watch the entire
video, watch until the end of the video to find out how you can win 2 of these shaped
tape concealers, as well as some extra goodies. Alright I love you guys, I hope you enjoy
this one, don’t forget to subscribe. Okay so, I’m just gonna jump right into this. I’m gonna use a my Pixi Glow Tonic To-Go-Pads,
just to wipe off any oil, and yuckiness from my skin because I am very oily, you guys know
that, and I’m feeling very lazy, and I do not want to go wash my face right now. So Laura Mercier foundation primer, haven’t
used this one in a minute. Oh this one is a kind of peachy, oh shoot
it is glowy, I was not trying to go for glowy but okay, okay we’ll make do. I’ve got all these Tarte Shape Tapes over
here in the shades medium. light medium, deep, and mahogany, and the
purpose of today’s video is to use all of these, instead of foundation. I’m gonna apply this, kind of all over, I’m gonna start off with with the light medium,
then I’m gonna apply a bit of medium, I’m gonna go for some deep, and I’m gonna use
a little bit of mahogany, because this one is the darkest one, and it’s also the coolest
one, so I’m just gonna apply to the sides of my forehead. I really want to test out this concealer,
it’s my favorite concealer that’s currently out on the market, and I want to see how it
will wear as a foundation. I love it so much, I have so many of them,
I received like 15 of them in the mail the other day from Tarte. So I posted on Twitter, I asked a bunch of
you guys what should I do with these Tarte Shape Tape concealers, and someone said, “Why
don’t you make a tutorial, why don’t you wear it as a foundation?”,  so that’s what I’m
doing right now, so let’s see how it goes. I’m gonna use my IT Cosmetics brush, and I’m just gonna start pounding it into my skin,
and that coverage is so nice. I’m starting with the lighter shades first,
and then I’m gonna buff in my contour shades. One of the things that I love about Shape
Tape, is obviously how full coverage it is, how opaque it is, and also how flawlessly
it seems to lay on the skin. It covers pores, it covers acne imperfections,
pretty much everything. And then also it gives you quite a bit of
time before you have to set it, so it doesn’t crease quickly, it doesn’t separate, it gives
you some playing time which I appreciate. So the light medium is the one that I typically like to highlight with, I like to apply it
under my eyes to bring light to the center of my face, and to kind of give an overall
lit type of look. Medium is the shade that matches my natural
skin tone perfectly, so that’s the shade that I like to highlight with if I’m tan, or if
I want it to transition from the highlight to my actual skin. And to be honest with you, I’ve never contoured
with Shape Tape, so this is my first time trying it. Hopefully it’ll work out for me, and hopefully
I picked the right shades. I think mahogany and deep mixed together,
would make for a really good contour on someone who’s medium, or tan, or around my complexion. Do you see how easily and flawlessly it blends? It doesn’t leave a stain of the dot that was
on my forehead, after I’ve blended it out, it’s just seamless. And do you see any pores? Do you see any imperfections on this face
right now? Let me observe closer, nope, looks pretty
good even from here. I’m looking at this, and I’m just wondering “Tarte, why are you taking so long? This needs to be a foundation already. This same formula, just much more of it. I am obsessed, you guys know I’m an oily skin
girl, and the fact that this is not creasing, not even in my lids, is amazing. This is why I love this product so much. I’m going to set the center of my face primarily, because that’s what gets really oily on me,
this is what I would do with any foundation, and today I’m gonna be using my dear friend
Patrick Starr, Patrick’s powder from MAC, from his collaboration with MAC. His collection just launched in stores, and
online on Thursday, I am so excited for him, this is such a great product that anyone can
wear to bake, to set your foundation, to set your concealer, it is awesome. So what I’m gonna do now is set under my eyes, set the tops of my lids, set the center of
the face, a little bit of the forehead, and the chin. I’m using my Pixi Collab Collection brush,
which you can still get a Target. This powder is micro-fine, it is colorless,
it’s perfecting. I really really love it you guys, and not
just because he’s Patrick, and he’s my friend, no no. He is not immune to my criticism, none of
my friends are. But this powder, he did something right with
this one, so if you’re gonna get at least one product from his collection, I would recommend
you get this powder. For the rest of my face, I’m gonna use my Pixi Collab Collection, my Strobe and Bronze
palette, and my favorite shade ‘Citikitty’, this one right here. I use the shade all the time, to add warmth
to my face, to bronze it up, to glow it up, to add a little bit of warmth to my contour,
that way it looks a little bit more believable, and not so so cool. Brows are on, baby hairs are snatched, next thing that I’m gonna do, is basically move
very quickly through this fun little holiday look, I’m gonna use Patrick Starr ‘Glam
AF’ eye shadow palette. I have kind of this cool little brush from
IT cosmetics that doubles as a liner, and as a brush, but the brush end works as an
all-over brush, and then with one click it becomes a crease brush, and then with another
click it becomes a smudger brush, pretty nifty if you ask me. I’m gonna dip it into saddle classic Mac shade, and I’m going to apply it all over my crease
transition, basically separating my lid from the brow, to the lash line. Nothing too crazy, I’m just gonna give my
eye a little bit of definition for this festive look. Add to my lower lash line, then I’m gonna
pick up just a smidge of ‘Embark’, I’m gonna click it to the smudger portion, and I’m just
gonna sharpen, and deepen, and darken my outer crease. And then with my eye open and staring directly
into my mirror, I’m gonna lift it up, and towards the end tail of my brow. I’m gonna line very closely to my lashes on
the bottom of my lid, and I’m gonna smudge it out. I’m gonna take this liner from L’Oreal, this is the ‘Silkissime’ liner in the shade
silver, and I’m just gonna swipe it from the inner corner of my eye, all the way outwards
towards the tail end of my brow. This liner glides on so easily, you don’t
even need to tug it, don’t even need to apply any pressure, it’s one of my favorite drugstore
liners. I’m gonna take my ‘Grandiose Liner’ from Lancome I’m just using a lot of my favorite
products, wrapping up the year strong. I’m gonna line very closely to my lash line,
one swoosh you guys, that’s how I like to do it. I’ve done this classic look so many times
before, that it’s almost second nature to me. That’s great for Christmas, for New Year’s,
for Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Valentine’s Day, your birthday, any day. Next I’m gonna take my heavy metal liner, this one is in the shade ‘glam rock’, this
one’s by Urban Decay, another one of my all-time favorite products, and I’m gonna apply this
right on top of the silver right above the black, not touching the black, you can do
as many coats as you want, but because I already applied the silver underneath, I’m just gonna
keep it at one coat. Also gonna add my little Twiggys on the bottom,
because that’s just a classic Maryam thing to do. This is the mascara that I’m gonna use today, this ‘Monsieur Big’, damn that skin though. Mmm. Lashes are on, these are love lashes in the
style ‘Dallas’. For the lips, I’m gonna go for a classic red Patrick Woo, I’m gonna use ‘brick’ lip liner
from MAC from Patrick’s collection, to outline my lippies, let’s do a couple lines for the
gram. ‘Patrick Woo’ to top off that liner, love
this classic blue based red that makes your teeth look so white. Yes… I want to darken those outer corners with
a little bit of ‘mahogany’, and top off the look with Patrick Woo lip gloss, woo! I am looking fierce, this is an amazing look, and so easy to put together. I’m gonna add just a little bit of glam
rock to my lower lash line, to the center, yeah. Farsali Jelly Beam Highlighter. I love how it jiggles, I love how it shakes. And I also love how it highlights, I think
this is a unique product, I think it works, and I think it is bomb, and it looks amazing
with this flawless foundation finish. Does it not? My skin is honestly looking extremely flawless, I don’t think it’s ever looked this flawless. Coverage is just so amazing, I see no pores,
I see no imperfections, I see no bumps, the texture is baby like. This Shape Tape man, it’s got me feeling some
type of way. So let’s see how it wears, and let’s plug
in my test wear right here. Hey guys, so it’s been about eight hours since I’ve applied my Tarte Shape Tape foundation,
this is what it’s looking like so far, I have not blotted, I have not powdered, I haven’t
touched it, I haven’t done anything to it, Beau is my witness, ain’t that right? He says that is right, and now he’s gone,
but this is what it looks like at this point. I think it’s held up pretty well, considering
I’m a very very oily skin type, you can obviously see there’s some shiny streaks coming through
especially in the center of my face, looks like I’m wearing highlighter all over, but
honestly it’s really not that bad, and it still looks pretty pretty flawless, so I can’t
complain. On the other hand, I will say that using your Tarte Shape Tape as an all-over type of product,
as a foundation product, would unfortunately be quite expensive, because one Tarte shaped
tape is $27. So if you were to use it the way that you
would have foundation, it would end up costing you over a hundred dollars considering its
size. So I will let you guys be the judge of that. I’m gonna turn around to Tarte, and I’m gonna
challenge them once again. Tarte, where is that Tarte Shape Tape Foundation? Let me know, what’s up. So now that we’ve come to the end of this video, let’s talk about this giveaway, let’s
talk about the prize. Five winners, international, each winner will
